Why Team In Training is important

Each of the Team In Training teams has an honored hero – a local team honoree who is a blood cancer patient or survivor. This is Jim, the honored hero for the cycle team. We’ve been practicing with the cycle team on Saturday mornings and I got a chance to interview Jim and hear how the fundraising that Team In Training does goes directly to supporting people.

In the video Jim mentions the drug Rituxan, which like Gleevec, was developed with money raised by Team In Training participants. What’s extra great about this is that these drugs have inspired breakthroughs in other areas of cancer research
