Where did I go?
Nowhere. I'm still here - just had a busy week. They've made a lot of progress on my house. In the last week they've added insulation and sheetrock, a driveway, sidewalk and a garage door. Yesterday they finised tapping and floating.

I've also had this new PowerBook to play with all week. Here are a few of the features that I love about it.
1. The screen! It's amazing. It's incredibly bright and sharp. Pablo and I figured out that it's got 50% more pixels per square inch than the display on my flat panel iMac. The other thing about it is that it's a 16:10 ratio which makes it great for watching movies. A widescreen DVD takes up almost the entire screen instead of just a little strip in the middle. You can also work on two documents side by side. This is great. I was working on a grant this week and I had the new proposal next to last year's. I haven't had the occasion to use it yet but look at all the room you have when using Final Cut Pro. Wow.

Remember this is a PowerBook - you can put it in your backpack. Sort of.

2. The keyboard. It feels great. Plus when you use it in the dark like I do - the screen automatically dims and the keys light up!

3. Wi-Fi. Being connected without wires is great. I can sit on the bench across the alley from the studio and still be connected to our network.
4. The Superdrive burns DVD's at only 1X but it burns CD's at 16X. I didn't know that - nice surprise.
That's it for now - back to work.
