It’s Fiesta time here in San Antonio. I’m not much of a Fiesta fan but cascarones are always fun. They’re everywhere around here between Easter and Fiesta. This video was shot at Rebecca’s Dad’s house on Easter.

Woah!
The creative commons licence thingy at the end of the video is getting better and better…
What were those egg things? Were they filled with confetti?
Looked like a ton of fun.
The egg things (filled with confetti) are cascarones.
AWW!!
DAMN I MISS FIESTA!
it’s so funny how people who don’t live in south Texas are completely ignorant to what cascarones are, because it’s just common knowledge to us.
-I love the phase Dylan is in, the annoyed teenager -I love it because I went through that forever! Remember I used to come into the studio and you were like WHAT COULD HAVE POSSIBLY HAPPENED TODAY THAT MAKES THE WHOLE WORLD SUCK?! and I had no sufficient response!
-and is that Matthew Guitierez?! -I know him! I went to high school with him!
-taxiplasm
I love that the dog is sullenly walking away, whining!
Yes that’s Matthew. He’s Rebecca’s brother (remember we talked about this?).
Even the dog got covered! Looked like a lot of fun.
…but what do you do with all the eggy-middles? A giant omelette? A custard? A week-long scramble?
Funny thing is I live in Mexico and have never seen one of those before. Looks like fun.
I love it! It gave us a beautiful insiders look onto what a middle class mexican american family is like. you should have a TV Show like the cosby show except mexican americans, I like george lopez but the characters are too idealized under white standards of beauty. Its like seing roman architechture when looking @ people of color on TV. this is why video blogging is superior, true diversity in video democratizes the media!
Thank you michael verdi!
you’re wonderful!
your family is gorgeous too!
hug see you in frisco!

that was fun. i like these kind of videos! =)
I like the opening shot. I thought it was pinata filling. This is the first time I’ve heard of cascarones. I live in East Harlem where there are a lot of Mexicans, Blacks, and Puerto Ricans.
Looks nice and messy, thanks for the link to your birthday video, great stuff…
one time on ZOOM they made Cascarones.
that’s how i know what they are.
Cascarones… I had no idea that is what eggs with confetti were called. When I was younger we would make them all the time for Easter.
Man, I miss that stuff. How Mexican am I that I didn’t even know what they were called. I blame my parents!!!!
