I started videoblogging about a year ago. I made the first post on this new blog on November 15, 2004 and I posted my first video on the 22nd. It really took me about a month to distinguish filmmaking from videoblogging. Once that happened I totally fell in love with it. And, I think, out of just doing what I love every chance I can, I’ve had the most amazing year starting with Dylan becoming famous and then on to VloggerCon. I’ve met great people from all over the world. Ryanne and I created FreeVlog. Dave Toole & Markus Sandy have been mentors, friends, and amazing partners in NODE101. Luckily, Chuck Olsen sent me some links to the videoblogging group that Jay & Peter started. I can’t imagine any of this happening if they hadn’t had the foresight to do that. So, I’ll never again think of myself as unlucky. Thanks for that.

2004 was the year of the vlog.
2005 is the year of the vlogger.
2006 will be the year of the node.

Just in time for 2007 - the year of many voices, and 2008, the year of great change.

Thanks to you, Jay, Ryanne and others, videoblogging has changed my life. No, I’m not saved or recvoering alcoholic and videoblogging never gave me the strength to not hang myself or not put a needle in my arm, but it has changed me.

More than anything, the legacy of your (everyone’s) actions is what makes the difference between winning and losing in the game of life. Also attitude. How you approach your life day by day is a huge marker of who you are. You seem like a remarkably positive, energetic person who does not mind getting naked on camera for the whole world to see. That says something about your attitude and your giving nature.

Congrats on the one-year anniversary. I just passed my six-month mark.

    Michael, Congratulations.

This remembrance of your first year shows a lot of passion, a lot of love for videoblogging. It shows how it can be embraced and how a person can videoblog in the most simple way. It shows how a person, a normal person, can by simply talking to a camera inspire hundreds of more people to videoblog,

You (and Ryanne) are an individual force that have taken “my” world by storm (and I know my world is not the only one affected by you two).

I only wish lots of good health for you, so you can continue your vlog, your “idea” for as much time as you can.

Congratulations again. I’m happy that I got to see part of your first year.

I love the shot of you sitting on the toilet with… maybe because it remind me of me? :P

Thank you again for all your help and please, keep them coming.

I hope one day I have the opportunity to help teaching people videoblog… believe me, I am working on it.
