I completed the first week of the game - whoohoo! Only 56 more to go. To recap, I’ve written every single day - 8 in a row now, and my first short of the game is posted. It’s called Lauren and it’s a look at my daughter. That’s it for now - I was up late finishing the video and Lauren is dying to see it.

I’m told the video looks really dark on a Windows computer so I’m making a new, lighter, version now. It should be up by noon central time.
The new version is up now.
congrats on the first week verdi.

I loved this interview, dad. Heh. Now do one of me! Pwease? ;D
Marcella sent this to me to post. Why the queen of journals - the person who got me interested in having a journal - doesn’t have a blogger account is beyond me. Regardless, it’s much appreciated.

i just saw LAUREN and i couldn’t comment because i don’t have a blog account. however, i love the split screen effect when she holds up her artwork, that’s so great!
i thought that there were so many layers behind an 8 year old’s words; i could really see her strength as she unapologetically voiced her ideas and opinions. leading me to believe that she won’t ever be easily influenced by popular opinion.
also, i loved when she discusses dylan, it was clear that lauren has a great respect for her older sister because she never once puts down dylan’s taste in music or hobbies, she just acknowledges that they’re different from hers.
further, lauren is the dreamer that we can all identify with and it’s in this video that we witness the dreamer’s transitional period. for instance, when she says she doesn’t want to dress like princesses anymore, that seems to serve as one of the first steps of maturity and growth.
wait, there’s more. you captured lauren exactly as you perceive her and i think it’s great because as a friend who happens to be your audience, i can see through your eyes for a few minutes.
very cool verdi. now teach me to do the split screen on final cut! have fun with the game, i think you’ve got a great start! hope to see more! take care. m
Your daughter plays “Set”? Holy cow! That game’s challenging for most adults, let alone 8 year olds!
Whatever you’re doing to raise her (and Dylan), keep on doing it. You’ve got two smart cookies there.
P.S. I know this is old news, but I stumbled across your site after the whole “Youngest Videoblogger” debacle and had to comment on this.
Actually, Lauren is the Set champion. She kicks everybody’s butt.
Impeach Bush?????????
What, we got a bunch od candya$$ liberals on hear?
Why don’t you anti- Bush baby murdering but fight for nothing never take action just use idle threats and words you too yellow to back up liberals go to Canada or France????????
YOU are a minority in this country!
Hey Randy,
Way to leave a comment that has nothing at all to do with the post. Oh and by the way, have you looked at Bush’s approval ratings lately?
Just read the ‘Impeach Bush’ mis-comment. It appears that *he* has now become a minority in this country. Perhaps he should move to Canada.
Great video and keepsake of your daughter.
