Basically this is just me testing out my new Canon HV20 camera while Dylan is acting silly. Jay wants me to remind you all that this is supposed to be silent and that there is nothing wrong with your computer.

you got to remind people not to expect sound. At first, i thought it was broken.
welcome to the hv20 club.. it is a high class place
It took me some time fixing the volume, then I noticed “Lumiere” in the title. Huh.
MY HAIR
LOOKS
SO
INSANE.
I LOOK INSANE.
its not like this normally.
i was really, really, REALLY confused when i was watching this.
i turned up the volume all the way until i realized that it was supposed to be another silent one. o.0
i want to know what dylan’s saying!
ps. did she just wake up, or something?
I did the same thing! Only for 2 seconds when I saw “Lumiere.”
Watched it in iTunes, looks so good doesn’t it? Love the HV20.
This was maddening because I wanted to hear what she was saying,
but her expressions made up for it.
Hi, i´m from Venezuela, its good to see people videoblogging, good job. I think i´m the only one person doing this in my country
Was browsing through some lumiere videos… you guys all ripped off the blandlands concept.
Actually, I’m just joking. I don’t care what you call it or how long blandlands has been around before this craze. I just love it. THis is my type of video shooting.
Of all the lumiere videos I’ve seen this has to be one of my favorites. I stumbled on your HD version first… wouldn’t play in my browser, to high def, was very happy that I came back and found this one… you have to see it in smooth fluid motion.
At first I was a little creeped out to be honest… even after what… 3 years there’s still some creepy voyeristic quality… it’s just to weird, like in being john malkovich when you’re inside john malkovich’s head…. but then I just found it fascinating, absolutely fascinating. It’s the absence of sound it makes you focus on the facial expressions… it’s phillip glass and Koyannisqatsi… taking the ordinary, recontextualizing it. Turning into the extrodinary.
I think you look great Dylan. Sure — a lot different than your usual style, perhaps, yet beautiful. This is just another style: the grungy / hipster / boy-clothes / natural look. The people at your school might expect something different than this look, but there are lots of people who work hard to carry this off. There may be a point in your life when you choose to look like this, and so do all your then-friends. Plus — no matter the hairstyle or clothes, the beauty that is YOU comes through! You are beautiful, Dylan, no matter how messy or straight your hair might be. People really like this video ’cause they see a shine in your eyes, and the energy of your smile, and a fun radiant love coming from you. Those are the elements of real beauty. Truly. Insanity looks very different from this, trust me.
This is my favorite luminere video so far. I love the way that her emotions communicate a lot without any words. Really nice.
i want that haircut!
I feel a certain mystery science theater compulsion…
I wish my dad had filmed me when I was her age. Lumiére or not. I’d love to watch my expressions, or hear my words. At least I think I would.
This is beautiful.
