I went to go visit my Dad today. It’s been 9 days since his open heart surgery. I tried to ask him how he’s doing and he start’s talking about wishbones. That’s my Dad for you. He cracks me up.

haha, that’s really funny! Anyways, I added you to my vlog roll. You make awesome videos, Verdi!
what if one person wishes for the other person’s wish to come true…then no one is let down…well unless the wish doesnt come true…
You father is both crazy and brilliant.
He’s not only funny, he’s really looking good! I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way about wishbones. I never cared for them. Dude’s a genius.
Hey Michael, Great job! Although I didn’t get the opportunity to view the video from work. Your dad is my hero in many ways, always positive and inspiration more than he can imagine. His going through this surgery is another miracle. I always believe when God brings you to it, He will get you throught it! Looking forward to spending more time reviewing your work.
Love cousin Janet
I like that he refers to you as “Mikey.” He seems to be in great shape considering it must have only been a week after his surgery!
Glad your father is recovering. Looking at this vlog though I just wish I could have shared a moment like this with my dad. A nice one, btw.
it’s like if someone asked Dostoyevsky about wishbones! I love it. Hope he feels better.

that’s a bad ass scar he’s got going on. yeah i like that you are mikey!
thank god for the xacti, glad moments like these get captured.
my god that was weird. like watching an old version of verdi as a crazy inventor.
I love this video. Sure the rant about wishbones is funny, but that banana just demands attention doesn’t it?! I swear that’s the banana off the cover of the first Velvet Underground album. And why is it so prominent here? Link, link, link.
Check out the bananas!
Hey, my mom has one of those scars too!!
Here is hoping it skips a generation, but deep down, I doubt it. We are only human.
Gosh, I was all over the place emotionally and mentally. Powerful video. Documentation at it’s finest.
wow. I remember when my dad had a quintuple bipass. He was only 40-something years old, I was only 10. I still don’t fully comprehend the magnitude of what could’ve happened.
Lovely. Naked dad, bones, bananas. I love that subtle sureality.
I love your dad’s attitude … impeccable logic! … I agree completely
your dad rocks !!! i love his
“wishbone” philosophy of life. god bless him. he looks great !!! he sounds so good. my friend who had open heart surgery was so weak for a long time.
love your vlogs and all your work for the community. you rock too!!
This wishbone controversy is the very thing that drove me to being a vegetarian.
My wife’s father has a scar like that but you wouldn’t know it to see him with no shirt. I think he is half wookie.
Your dad has a great outlook on life and the resemblance is striking. Great video!
Your dad looks so healthy… and what a great head of hair!
Glad to see he’s doing well. He pauses his words like you do…
I’m telling you…some producer has to snatch you guys up and give you a talk show! I loved when your father quickly dismissed your idea about raising the birds without wishbones, and you were like, “Oh, OK.” hehe Awesome!
Wishbone philosophy – I love it! An older relative once told me the secret to “winning” the wishbone wish. He said, “The one who pulls always loses. The one who just holds steady will win”
Jajajaaaa. what a funny conversation.
Yes, I was going to say that you should wisdh with a person you don’t like, but your father gave some good reasons there why not to. Jajajaaaaa
I like your ending “slate”.
With all the talk of winning and losing, we’re assuming that your dad has never had a wishbone “tie”. . . Nate’s family has had it before when a wishbone splits perfectly down the middle or else both handles break off and the middle drops to the floor.
What would he say to that?
I friend of mine just had open heart surgery, he had something like the actor John Ritter’s heart except they caught his condition ahead of time. He was on heart pressure medication, caught an infection, and had to go see his doctor. He said the operation was so painful he would have rather froze his thumb and smash it with a hammer.
NYT reader, here. Thanks for making the first vlog I watched a good one. ((((darts off to read some more)))
That is just priceless. I love your Dad! What a cool person. Explains a little about you…. Thanks for sharing that.
Your dad’s got a point. I think I’m going to stick to eyelashes and first stars.
Your Dads got a great attitude
He looks likes he’s in good spirits , only 9 days after Open Heart
I wished I had my movie camera , before my dad passed in 2003 ,,,

Dear Michael – As an introduction – Your father and I are old friends, very much like brothers who have been through a lot together. He’s been a great friend; is strong, solid, loyal and has a heart as big as a house and made of gold. I’ve heard a lot about you and your artistic abilities – the personal creativity shines through and delivered to me the gift of a visit with your father. I have decided to save two large wishbones, share them with two individuals, save the positive peices of each as an extension of a wish from me to him for a long and healthy life, and for me to have the benefit of sharing that life for a long time. Best wishes, warm regards, friendship and love always, Mark
Wow… I just watched this again. I think this is one of my all-time favorite vlog videos. Your dad is so funny, and he feels terrible! There are so many levels here… I just love it.
Fantastic
