A good bit of film….I especially like the background thru the rear window of your car…video camera works well too…is it bolted down or something..like velcro?

I should have some sort of car mount for my camera. It’s not bolted down. I’m just holding it. It’s not too hard though since it’s an Xacti C5.

    Hi:

This is odd. I feel like I know you. After all your voice walked me through the process of creating my own vlog. A damn interesting medium this is.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Well fucking said on the gay marrage thing. This country can be so fucked up.

Check this out. A friend of mine moved to NY, we lost touch. She found my vlog, dropped me line. Turns out she’s a big time vloger. Crazy. Take care. See you around.

Hope everything goes well with your Dad. About prop 2, it looks like it’s going to pass from what I’ve seen so far. I can’t agree with you more. It really is idoitic. I especially like when they say that it’s to “protect the sanctity of marriage”. Yeeeah. Like straight people haven’t been fucking THAT up for years! I mean c’mon…the divorce rate is what? 60%? So a 60% divorce rate doesn’t do anything to the sanctity of marriage but if Jane and Susan get married it’s going to hell. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one really pissed off over this BS proposition.

I feel the same way! I use to live in Michigan, and they had that proposition through a while back. Last spring maybe? I’m pretty sure it passed too, despite my vote. Cheers.

    Hey Verdi,

Sorry about your Dad, I hope he soon gets well after his surgery. And I was so fucking pissed I got called into work this weekend, and missed The Vloggers in Texas meeting. But, I may be moving to Austin, and hopefully I can participate more with things at Node 102 with you and Juan Carlos.

    Ciao!

Just here from Drudge… “Texas voters Tuesday overwhelmingly approved a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, making their state the 19th to take that step.”

Does that make the the “overwhelming” majority of Texans stupid?

I just heard on the news that the same politician that was pushing Prop 2 is now going to push more legislation regarding marriage. This time he wants to make it more difficult to get a divorce. Doesn’t this guy have other things he should be worrying about? He’s way too concerned about Joe marrying Jack and whether or not Sue and John get divorced.

Actually, I think those sunglasses are okay, and that proposition is a bad gateway for a lot of other narrow-minded stuff to filter in, but what’s really upsetting me is that you were HOLDING the camera? My god, I assumed you had it taped/velcroed/stapled/tied to the dash, or something!

Glad you didn’t crash in the heat of your political tirade. That would stink.

Hmmm…your friend who wrote the play looks a lot like Allen Ginsberg in his later years…

  18. Posted November 14, 2005 at 12:38 am | Permalink

that proposition was complete shit. do those who voted for it think that they can change the fact that people love who they do regardless of politics?
ha. tradition always falls to new ways sooner or later. i suppose spreading awareness is the only civil act one can participate in against the supposed “moral majority”.
anywho- best of luck to your father.
    be well.

Michael, that was one great post! :-) From my side of the pond (UK) I shake my head at some of the idiocy that US politicians feel the need to indulge in – then again, the US doesn’t have a monopoly on stupid politicians…

I’ll be in Austin next March (speaking at SXSW Interactive) and I’ll be more than happy to wear a T-Shirt proclaiming equal marriage rights on stage – not that Austin is necessarily representative of the rest of Texas, but, you do what you can…
