So do you guys centrally run all the Nodes, or did you just start the idea and others started their own spaces? I’m interested in having one around here (Tacoma/Seattle, WA) but the closest Node is in Texas. Are there plans to spread into the Northwest? Thanks.

    Hi,
What I would like to see is some camcorder suggestions. I have been looking at camcorders for months now but can’t pick which one I should go with. If anyone has a suggestiong for a minidv around $300 please let me know. Thanks :) Once we get a camera we’ll try to make it. My daughter wants to try to make a vlog.

    How cool was that?!!?

If that don’t make you feel the love, I don’t know what will.

Hmmm, let’s see. NODE101 is an idea that Ryanne, Jay, Josh & I came up with. Since then, lot’s of people have joined in. You can read more about it here. We’ve started by opening four nodes as a test. We’ll be working on others soon.

Cameras – I don’t have a particular recomendation. Most any of the $300 – $500 MiniDV cameras will serve you well and produce the same quality video. Another option might be a still camera that also shoots video. Canon has nice PowerShotSD camera from $200 – $500. The quality of the video is not as good as DV but the cameras are tiny – like the size of a cell phone or smaller. You can take them anywhere.

YKnow.. this is such a big deal!! there must be thousands of people that have computers and also have video cameras stuffed in cupboards that are never used…and here is a good use for them..I’ve had so much enjoyment over the last week or so watching video blogs…It might even put the TV companies out of business if this gets around…Thanx for being there you guys (from a 44 yr old male on the south coast of england)

This video excites the hell out of me. I think because of folks doing this type of thing, the future of citizen-powered media is very bright.

I really like the idea of Node101, and would really like to see it happen in Denmark. I know that there are lots of people with either webcams or DV cameras and people could make it work, we just need a DK Node! I just recently made my own blog (orVlog) but haven’t daredn to put my own face on it yet, just added some of my video projects. I want to wait with the actual Vlogging until I feel I got something to say.

Im starting to make yet another shortfilm soon and I thought about doing a small documentary on the go and post it on my Vlog…

    Any Thoughts? Ideas? Guidelines?
    Thanks.
